Fireworks, free carnival rides, and live music: Commerce's Independence Day Celebration returns
COMMERCE, CA — The City of Commerce is bringing back its annual Independence Day Celebration with two days of free entertainment, carnival rides, live music, food, and fireworks this Friday and Saturday at Civic Center and Rosewood Park, according to a city news release.
The celebration kicks off Friday, July 3, with a carnival open from noon to 10 p.m., followed by performances from Identity Theft Band and Jumping Jack Flash Band before a fireworks show at 9 p.m.
Festivities continue Saturday, July 4, with another full day of carnival rides, a cornhole tournament, live music, dance performances, the "Commerce Got Talent" showcase and a laser light show at 9 p.m. Families can also enjoy face painting, balloon art, food trucks, and carnival games throughout the day. The event will also include quiet, sensory-friendly spaces for guests who need a break from the noise and crowds.
Commerce residents with a valid Resident Activity Card can enjoy unlimited carnival rides for free, while non-residents can purchase a two-day wristband for $20. The city will also operate free neighborhood shuttle service from several parks to help residents get to and from the event.
City officials say the annual celebration is designed to bring the community together for a weekend of family-friendly activities while celebrating Independence Day.
“This event is about more than fireworks and fun,” Mayor Kevin Lainez said in a statement. “It’s about honoring what makes Commerce special: our people, our families and our spirit.”
